This silver, Kingman turquoise Zuni bear overlay bracelet by Diné (Navajo) artist Norman Woody of Dilcon, Arizona, combines overlay silversmithing with meaningful symbolism. The bracelet features a central Kingman turquoise stone, with overlay designs depicting the Navajo Four Sacred Mountains on each side and a bear figure representing protection.
Norman Woody began making jewelry at age 21 after being taught by his brother-in-law, renowned silversmith Tommy Singer. Coming from a family of skilled artisans—including weavers and craftsmen—Norman developed his own recognizable style and is especially known for his bear and buffalo designs. In Navajo culture, the bear symbolizes protection and strength, while the Four Sacred Mountains represent the boundaries and spiritual homeland of the Navajo people. This bracelet brings those symbols together in a piece that reflects culture, storytelling, and skilled overlay craftsmanship.

Special care instructions: For light tarnish, use a soft polishing cloth specifically designed for silver. Store sterling silver jewelry in a cool, dry place—ideally in a soft pouch or lined box. Keeping pieces separate prevents scratches and tangles, especially when stones are involved.
