Sheltered within a cave high on a limestone cliff overlooking Beaver Creek, this five-story, 20-room cliff dwelling was once home to the Sinagua people. Early settlers assumed that the impressive structure was associated with the Aztec emperor Montezuma, but the inhabitants had migrated from the dwelling a century before Montezuma was even born. This imposing cliff dwelling is now preserved at Montezuma Castle National Monument.
