This one features an image of a desert tortoise, one of the most famous denizens of Mojave National Preserve.

The desert tortoise burrows into the ground to escape the intense heat of this habitat. It can store water in its bladder, and can tolerate high levels of urea in their blood to keep from losing moisture through excess urinating. Because of these adaptations, they can go for long periods of time without food or water.
