The horny toad, also called horned lizard, is a lizard characterized by dagger like head spines, a flattened oval body, pointed fringe scales along the sides of the body, and a short tail. They typically range in length from 3 to 5 inches, and inhabit western North America usually in desert or semi-desert habitats. They also happen to be the state reptile of Texas, which is home several of our partner parks.
