The molinillo is a traditional Mexican turned wood whisk, most commonly used in the preparation of hot beverages such as hot chocolate, atole, and champurrado. The molinillo is held between the palms and rotated by rubbing the palms together; this rotation combines all the ingredients and also creates a nice froth in the drink. In addition, molinillos have a unique appearance, especially our hand-carved and hand-colored versions. Make no mistake, this molinillo is perfectly safe for use, it just has some added flair.
