Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site Enamel Ornament

Remember your national park adventures every holiday season with our unique enamel and stamped metal ornaments! Each one is created by first stamping a metal exterior ring containing the park's name, then placing a translucent enamel design in the middle of that circle. Each ornament has a color enameled front display and a brushed finish reverse. This one features a classic Conestoga wagon as might have been seen at Bent’s Old Fort in its heyday.

The Conestoga wagon is heavy covered wagon that was used extensively during the late eighteenth century, and the nineteenth century. It was large enough to transport loads up to 6 tons, and was drawn by horses, mules, or oxen. Think of it as the eighteen wheeler of the westward expansion.
