The great horned owl is found throughout North America. It is named for the feathered tufts on its head that resemble horns. It is a powerful nocturnal hunter that feeds on a variety of animals, including rabbits, mice, birds, small cats-and even skunks! The owls typically measure approximately 18 to 25 inches in length, with a wingspan of 3 1/2 feet. Their call is a deep stuttering hoot that carries for a significant distance, and can often be heard within many of our partner parks. You"ll have a hoot building your own great horned owl with our 392-piece mini block set!
