Remember your national park adventures every holiday season with our laser-cut wood ornaments! Each ornament has custom design cut into a piece of sustainably-sourced, biodegradable North American hardwood. This one features a Bleached Earless Lizard.

One of the most famous inhabitants of White Sands National Park, the bleached earless lizard is a subspecies of the common lesser earless lizard. The common lesser earless can be found throughout the central and southwestern United States, including most of New Mexico. Unlike its relatives, however, the bleached earless lizard is only found in the White Sands area. Adaptations over the last several thousand years allow the bleached earless lizard to thrive in the white sands dunes, but not in other darker environments.

  • Official park ornament approved by the National Park Service for White Sands Dune National Park
  • Size: 5" x 1 1/2"
  • Arrives strung and ready for hanging
