Crafted by Navajo artist Ravis Henry in Chinle, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation, these tufa cast silver sheep earrings celebrate the profound relationship between the Diné (Navajo) and dibé (sheep).
The sheep are cast using the tufa casting method. Unlike sandcasting, tufa casting uses carved volcanic stone molds, a process that Ravis taught himself and continues to refine. Each pair begins as a raw idea and takes shape through fire, patience, and hand-finishing.
The design honors the sacred bond between dibé, kéyah (land), and hooghan (home)—an interconnectedness central to Diné life. Ravis doesn’t just make jewelry; he creates expressions of culture through traditional techniques.
These earrings reflect a lifetime of learning and a daily commitment to growth as an artist. Slight variations in casting make each piece truly one of a kind.
Wearing these tufa cast silver sheep earrings is a quiet tribute to a way of life grounded in respect, resilience, and relational harmony.

To preserve the beauty and finish of your sterling silver jewelry, avoid exposure to water, lotions, perfumes, and harsh chemicals. Store in a cool, dry place when not in use. Gently polish with a soft jewelry cloth to remove tarnish and restore shine, and wear it often—regular wear helps prevent tarnish from forming.
