Show your support for national parks on your sleeve, lapel, bag, or wherever! Our die-struck metal collector pins are crafted with a durable, multicolored enamel, so they'll look great for a lifetime. This pin features an image of a Jefferson Peace Medal. When President Thomas Jefferson ordered an expedition to explore the land acquired in the Louisiana Purchase, one of the tasks given to leaders Meriwether Lewis and William Clark was opening diplomatic relations with the American Indian tribes, who possessed intimate knowledge of the land and resources of their home lands. Lewis and Clark presented tribal leaders with Jefferson Peace Medals as a token of goodwill. On the back of those medals was an image of two clasped hands below a crossed axe and peace pipe, surrounded by the words, “Peace and Friendship.”

  • Official park pin approved by the National Park Service for Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail
