For generations hikers in Europe have collected pictorial medallions of different regions to attach to their staff. Each unique collectible serves as a memento of a new region explored or a new trail conquered, and this one depicts Montezuma Peak, the most recognized geologic feature in the monument. It is what remains of a massive granitic intrusion of the Jurassic Period. Limestone blocks were carried up with this intrusion and make up the grayish layers below the peak, including the layer which houses Coronado Cave. This medallion is hand made by a master engraver and then colored with a durable enamel. Sold with brads for attaching them to a hiking staff.

  • Official hiking stick medallion approved by the National Park Service for Coronado National Memorial
  • Includes brads and adhesive backing for secure attachment to your hiking stick
  • Size: 1 1/2" x 1 1/2"
