At well over 100 years old, this vintage basket is a perfect example of the basketry produced by the Yavapai people of Arizona. This example is crafted using willow with devil's claw wefts and oval, three-rod willow warp, and features a positive/negative expanding seven-petal rosette. Figurals include deer, dogs, and coyote tracks, the intricacy of which is hard to imagine. The central hanger is an antique, Navajo hand-stamped silver button. The overall craftsmanship of this piece is truly extraordinary.
